Ordering Guide & Tips

The Original Grand Slam® at Denny’s costs $10.49–$15.99 — two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs made your way, two Applewood-smoked bacon strips and two all-pork sausage links, at 740 calories. The cheapest full breakfast plate on the menu is the Everyday Value Slam®, at $6.99–$7.99. Denny’s sets no single national price: nearly every item is priced by the individual restaurant, so every price on this page is the verified range from Denny’s own online ordering menus, checked at stores in Fort Worth, Orlando and Los Angeles in October 2026. Below is the full Denny’s menu — 163 items in 18 categories — with the calories Denny’s publishes for each item, and the fact the chain is built on up front: breakfast is served all day.

Breakfast All Day: How Denny’s Works

Denny’s serves breakfast all day. The chain’s own FAQ states it directly: “All your breakfast favorites are served all day.” There is no breakfast cutoff and no breakfast menu that gets put away — the Slams, skillets, omelettes and pancakes below are orderable at opening, at dinner and at 3 AM in a 24-hour restaurant.

The menu is one all-day menu, not dayparts. Its 18 categories run from the breakfast core — Combos, Triple Play Combos, Classic Slams, Specialty Pancakes & Crepes, Signature Breakfasts and Breakfast Sides — through Starters, Salads, Burgers, Melts & Handhelds, Sides and Dinners & Skillets, and finish with a Family Pack, a Kids menu, a 55+ menu, Desserts, Milk Shakes and Beverages. Lunch and dinner items sit on the same menu at the same hours; the one time-bound item is the soup of the day, listed as available from 11 AM to 10 PM.

Two ordering formats organise the menu. The Combos pair a main dish with a side and a drink. The Triple Play Combos — the chain’s current combo format, launched in August 2026 — bundle a drink, a starter and an entrée from $9.99, and the ordering menu sells 11 named Triple Play builds. For a group, the Grand Slam® Pack ($32.99–$34.49) carries eight buttermilk pancakes, eight scrambled eggs, four bacon strips, four sausage links and hash browns, and serves four to five people.

The Grand Slam Family

The Grand Slam is the central dish of this menu — the plate Denny’s identity is built on — and it comes in two different constructions that are constantly confused with each other:

The Original Grand Slam® is a fixed plate: two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs made your way, two Applewood-smoked bacon strips and two all-pork sausage links. It has 740 calories and costs $10.49–$15.99 depending on the restaurant. The Build Your Own Grand Slam® costs the same $10.49–$15.99, but nothing on it is fixed: you pick any four items and make it your own. Because every build is different, Denny’s publishes the calories of the components, not a single total for a Build Your Own Slam — there is no official calorie figure for it, and any number attached to it elsewhere is an estimate.

The Super Slam™ is the Original’s build plus crispy hash browns: 910 calories, and at $8.99–$10.99 it costs less than the Original at every store checked for this page while carrying more food. The Grand Slamwich® rebuilds the Slam as a sandwich — two scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham and American cheese between two slices of grilled bread — at 1,220 calories and $12.29–$17.79.

The rest of the Classic Slams, all served with eggs and breakfast meats as each description in the menu states: the Lumberjack Slam® (1,260 calories — pancakes, grilled ham, bacon, sausage and eggs), the All-American Slam® (1,200 — three scrambled eggs with cheddar, bacon, sausage and hash browns), the French Toast Slam® (810), the Waffle Slam® (1,160), the Berry Waffle Slam® (1,200), the Berry Stuffed French Toast Slam® (1,240), the Plant-Based Pancake Slam® (1,000 — multigrain plant-based pancakes with seasonal fruit and hash browns), and the Fit Slam® (450 — egg whites with spinach and grape tomatoes, turkey bacon, an English muffin and fruit), which is the lowest-calorie Slam on the menu. The Pumpkin Pecan Pancake Slam is the seasonal member of the family.

How much is a Grand Slam at Denny’s?There is no single Grand Slam price. The Original Grand Slam runs from $10.49 at the Fort Worth store checked to $15.99 at the Los Angeles store checked. Your restaurant sets its own price inside that kind of range.
What is the difference between the Original Grand Slam and the Build Your Own Grand Slam? The Original is a fixed plate — pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage, 740 calories. The Build Your Own costs the same and lets you pick any four items instead; because the build changes, Denny’s publishes no single calorie total for it.

Skillets, Omelettes, Pancakes & the Rest of Breakfast

The Signature Breakfasts are the cooked-to-order half of the breakfast menu. The steak-and-eggs plates anchor it: the T-Bone Steak & Eggs (a 13 oz. T-Bone, 910 calories) and the Sirloin Steak & Eggs (770). The Country Fried Steak & Eggs (810) is a chopped beef steak smothered in country gravy. The Santa Fe Skillet (770) builds chorizo, fire-roasted peppers and onions, mushrooms and seasoned red-skinned potatoes under cheddar and eggs. Two burritos wrap the same ingredients: the Grand Slam® Burrito (1,080 calories) and the newer Spicy All-American Burrito, which launched after Denny’s current nutrition guide and has no published calorie figure yet.

Moons Over My Hammy® — ham and scrambled egg with Swiss and American cheeses on grilled sourdough, served with hash browns — is 960 calories as a sandwich, and Denny’s also sells it as a three-egg omelette (1,080) and in combo form. The omelette lineup is all three-egg: the Ultimate Omelette® (1,150), the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette (1,120), the Mile High Denver Omelette (1,090), the Loaded Veggie Omelette (920 — spinach, mushrooms, peppers, onions, tomatoes and Swiss), and a Build Your Own Omelette with up to four fillings, which like the Build Your Own Slam carries no single published calorie total.

The pancake and crepe section sells each specialty flavour two ways — as a Slam with eggs, hash browns and bacon or sausage, or as a stack on its own. The Double Berry Banana Pancake Slam® (490 calories) is the lightest pancake Slam; the Cinnamon Roll Pancake Slam® (1,100) and Choconana Pancake Slam® (840) sit at the rich end. Stacks on their own run $3.79–$7.19, and a plain stack of buttermilk pancakes added to any meal is $3.49–$3.79 at 450 calories. The Maple Stuffed Donut Holes publish the widest calorie range on the menu — 760 to 1,750 depending on size; the top of that range is the largest single calorie figure Denny’s publishes for any item.

Breakfast sides are sold individually — hash browns (180 calories), an egg cooked to order (40–110, by style), buttermilk biscuits (450), biscuit and gravy (320), seasoned red-skinned potatoes (250) and fresh seasonal fruit (100) among them — which is what makes the Build Your Own formats work.

Burgers, Melts, Dinners & Skillets

Lunch and dinner at Denny’s are not a separate menu — they are the second half of the same all-day menu. The burgers run from the Single Cheeseburger (560 calories) through the Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger (1,010) and Bourbon Bacon Burger (870) to the Triple Juicy Burger (1,510 — three quarter-pound patties, three bacon strips, three slices of aged white cheddar). The Slamburger™ (830) crosses the two halves of the menu: crispy hash browns, an egg, bacon and American cheese on a brioche bun. The Cheesy Bacon Ranch Sliders are listed twice by Denny’s itself, at two different builds — as a starter portion (910 calories) and as a burger plate with a side (1,360) — and both rows are in the menu on this page.

The melts and handhelds are led by the Super Bird® (680 calories — turkey, Swiss, bacon and tomato on grilled sourdough), the Cali Club Sandwich (840) and the Pot Roast Melt (770). Among the dinners and skillets, the Sirloin Steak (530 calories) is the lightest full dinner entrée on the menu, just ahead of the Wild Alaska Salmon (540); the Country-Fried Steak Dinner (960), Fried Fish Platter (900), Smokehouse Mac & Cheese Skillet (990) and Spaghetti & Meatballs (1,200) fill out the comfort end. The starters are headed by the Zesty Nachos at 1,660 calories — the highest fixed calorie figure on the menu.

Availability is not perfectly national: of the items checked, six are not carried at all three anchor stores — the Pot Roast Melt, Smokehouse Mac & Cheese Skillet, Jr. Cheeseburger and 55+ Wild Alaska Salmon are missing from the Los Angeles menu, the Beer-Battered Onion Rings from Orlando’s, and the Spaghetti & Meatballs from Fort Worth’s. The menu on this page shows each of them with the price range from the stores that carry it.

Prices

Denny’s prices are set store by store. The prices on this page were captured on 25 October 2026 from the official online ordering menus Denny’s itself publishes at dennys.com, for three restaurants: Fort Worth, Texas (4400 South Freeway — the cheapest of the three on most items), Orlando, Florida (9880 International Dr) and Los Angeles, California (5535 W Century Blvd — the most expensive on most items). Every price is shown as the lowest-to-highest range across the stores that carry the item; of 184 distinct items compared, 178 varied in price or availability between stores, so a single national price would be wrong for almost everything on the menu.

The full span runs from $0.89 (the sauces and dressings add-on) to $34.49 (the Grand Slam Pack in Los Angeles). The anchors: the Original Grand Slam is $10.49–$15.99, the Everyday Value Slam $6.99–$7.99, the Super Slam $8.99–$10.99, the Triple Play Combos start at $9.99, a stack of buttermilk pancakes is $3.49–$3.79, and the Signature Diner Blend Coffee is $2.79–$3.99. Where a price ends in a “+” on this page, Denny’s own menu marks it “starting at” — the final price depends on the size or option you pick.

One row in the menu carries no price at all, deliberately: the Kids Beverage is listed unpriced on all three stores’ menus because its price follows the drink chosen. Everything else on this page is priced.

Nutrition & Calories

Every calorie figure on this page comes from Denny’s official nutrition guides — the Core Menu Nutrition Guide (April 2026) and the companion LTO guide, both linked at dennys.com/nutrition and checked on 25 October 2026. The complete nutrient tables (protein, carbs, sodium and the rest) live in those guides; the figures printed here are the calories, stated exactly as Denny’s publishes them, including Denny’s own ranges where a build varies — the wings run 640–1,330 calories across sauces and counts, the milk shakes 550–760 across flavours, and the iced tea 5–160 between unsweetened and sweet.

55+ Starter™ 420
Jr. Grand Slam® 340

The lowest-calorie complete breakfast on the menu is the 55+ Starter™ at 420 calories; among the full-size Slams, the Fit Slam® at 450 is the lightest by a wide margin — the next Slam up is the Original at 740. The lightest full dinners are the Sirloin Steak (530) and the Wild Alaska Salmon (540), and the lowest figure Denny’s publishes anywhere on the menu is the broccoli side at 35 calories.

121 of the 163 items on this page carry a published calorie figure. The 42 that do not are unpublished, not estimated, and they fall into four groups: the 18 combo builds (the Combos and Triple Play Combos), because Denny’s publishes the base dishes, not drink-plus-starter-plus-entrée totals — the calories of each component live in that dish’s own category; the build-your-own items, whose totals depend on your picks; the multi-packs; and the items launched after the April 2026 guide — the Diner QP line, the Cloud Frappes, the Caramel Apple drinks and shake, the Mozzilla Melt and the Pumpkin Pecan items — for which Denny’s has not yet published figures. Where a figure is missing in the menu on this page, it is missing from Denny’s guides too.

Allergens & Dietary

Denny’s publishes its allergen information at dennys.com/allergen; the most recent standalone US Allergen Guide is the April 2024 edition, a matrix over ten columns — egg, fish, shellfish, milk/dairy, soybeans, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, gluten and sesame — marking each item as containing an allergen or as subject to possible cross-contact in a shared facility or on shared equipment. Individual items on Denny’s ordering menus also carry their own “contains / may contain” statements.

The chain’s official position, from its own FAQ, is plain: because food is prepared and cooked in shared areas, Denny’s cannot guarantee that any item is free of any allergen. Guests with dietary needs are directed to the store manager or to 1-800-733-6697. If you have a food allergy, work from the official allergen guide and the restaurant, not from any summary — including this one.

Does Denny’s have gluten-free options?Items marked GF on Denny’s menu meet the FDA definition of gluten-free — under 20 parts per million — but Denny’s states that its restaurants are not a strictly gluten-free environment, and no item is certified gluten-free. The GF-marked items are the lower-risk choices, not a guarantee.
What can a vegetarian or vegan order at Denny’s?The menu’s plant-based build is the Plant-Based Pancake Slam® — multigrain pancakes made with flaxseeds, cinnamon and brown sugar, served with seasonal fruit and hash browns (1,000 calories). Vegetarian builds include the Loaded Veggie Omelette (920 — made with egg and cheese) and the salads. Denny’s publishes no vegan certification for any item, and the shared-grill warning above applies to all of them.
What happened to Denny’s Fit Fare menu? The Fit Fare section is gone from the current menu. The Fit Slam® (450 calories) is the only Fit Fare-era item still sold; the older Fit Fare skillets appear in a May 2025 nutrition guide but are not in the current April 2026 guide or on the ordering menus.

Kids Menu & Kids Eat Free

The kids menu has 11 items, priced $4.49–$6.69 for the entrées: the Jr. Grand Slam® (three silver dollar pancakes, an egg, a bacon strip and a sausage link — 340 calories, $4.99–$5.99), Jr. Waffle Slam®, Jr. Chocolate Chip Pancakes (220 calories — the lightest kids entrée), Kid’s Birthday Pancakes, Jr. Cheeseburger, Mac & Cheese, Jr. Spaghetti and Jr. Premium Chicken Tenders, plus a Jr. Milk Shake, Jr. Ice Cream and the Kids Beverage — the one unpriced row on this page, because its price follows the drink chosen.

Kids Eat Free runs on the terms in Denny’s official FAQ, and those terms govern: with an adult entrée purchase of $6 or more, you get up to two free kids’ entrées per adult entrée, at participating restaurants, dine-in only, and not valid for online orders. The days are set by each location and vary. Denny’s Rewards page currently promotes the offer as every day from 4 PM to 10 PM at participating locations — treat that as the current promotion and the FAQ terms as the rules, and confirm your restaurant participates before you count on it.

What days do kids eat free at Denny’s?There is no single chain-wide day. The official terms make the offer location-set — participating restaurants choose their days, dine-in only, with an adult entrée of $6 or more earning up to two free kids’ entrées. The current Rewards promotion runs it every day, 4 PM–10 PM, at participating locations.

The 55+ Menu & the AARP Discount

Denny’s senior menu is a real, current menu — five smaller-portion items sold under the 55+ name, priced between $6.79 and $11.99 across the stores checked:

  • 55+ Starter™ — an egg with one bacon strip or one sausage link, hash browns and choice of bread: $6.79–$8.59, 420 calories.
  • 55+ Scrambled Eggs & Cheddar Breakfast — two scrambled eggs with cheddar, two bacon strips, two sausage links and two buttermilk pancakes: $7.59–$8.89, 1,040 calories.
  • 55+ Omelette — a two-egg omelette with caramelized onions, bacon, tomatoes and cheddar, with hash browns and toast: $8.89–$10.39, 930 calories.
  • 55+ Country-Fried Steak — chopped beef steak in country gravy with a side and dinner bread: $9.69–$10.39, 580 calories.
  • 55+ Wild Alaska Salmon — grilled salmon with a side and dinner bread: $11.59–$11.99, 540 calories.

Separately, AARP members get 15% off their entire check when they scan their membership card in-store, at participating restaurants — Denny’s official FAQ terms. The discount caps at $10, excludes alcohol, the Everyday Value Slam, the Super Slam, merchandise, gift cards and online orders, and cannot be combined with Original Grand Slam promotions or other offers. The FAQ’s exclusion list still names the old “$2 $4 $6 $8 menu items” — legacy wording on a live page, for a menu that is no longer sold (see Deals below).

Does Denny’s have a senior discount? Two of them. The 55+ menu sells five smaller-portion items at $6.79–$11.99 to any guest who orders them, and AARP members take 15% off the whole check in-store at participating restaurants, up to a $10 discount, under the exclusions above.

Deals, Coupons & Denny’s Rewards

Deals rotate and are set per promotion, so this section states what is current as of October 2026 and prints no coupon codes — the live offers are the ones in the Denny’s app and on the official offers page.

The $2 $4 $6 $8 Value Menu is not on the current menu. It appears neither on Denny’s official menu nor on its meal-deals page as checked on 25 October 2026, and nothing on the current menu is sold at those tiers. What replaced it is a set of value Slams and combo deals: the Everyday Value Slam® at $6.99–$7.99 (a choice of pancakes, Brioche French toast or biscuit and gravy, with eggs and bacon or sausage), the Super Slam® at $8.99–$10.99, and the Triple Play Combos from $9.99, launched in August 2026. “Slammin’ Meal Deals” is the 2026 name for this value relaunch; most of its specialty plates are not orderable on the online menus of the stores checked — the Everyday Value Slam and the Super Slam are the value plates the storefronts actually sell. There is likewise no $5.99 breakfast special: the cheapest full breakfast plate on the current menu is the Everyday Value Slam at $6.99–$7.99.

Denny’s Rewards (the Booth Rewards program) carries a sign-up offer of 20% off your next visit. Members earn 10 Booth Bucks for every $1 spent, and 600 Booth Bucks earn a Booth Reward. Rewards members also get a birthday offer: a free Original Grand Slam® on your birthday at participating restaurants, dine-in, with proof that it is your birthday. Coupons and promo codes run through the app and the official offers page; codes rotate by promotion and this page does not print them.

Two negatives, stated plainly: no military discount appears in Denny’s official FAQ or in the current offers checked for this page — the standing published discounts are the AARP 15% above and Kids Eat Free — and Denny’s publishes no chain-wide happy hour program.

Hours

The honest answer to the 24-hour question is Denny’s own: its FAQ says the chain “is known for serving diner favorites 24/7” — and immediately adds that hours may vary by location. Many Denny’s restaurants are open 24 hours; the chain is not 24 hours everywhere, and there is no national timetable to print.

Verified examples from the stores checked for this page: the Fort Worth restaurant (4400 South Freeway) and the Orlando restaurant on International Dr are both open 24 hours. The Jackson Heights, New York restaurant (8710 Northern Blvd) is not — it keeps limited hours, roughly 7 AM to 10 PM. Both patterns are normal for Denny’s, which is why the official store locator and the app carry each restaurant’s own hours and live open-or-closed status. Some locations also run a shortened late-night menu even while the dining room stays open.

Breakfast has no hours of its own: it is served all day at every location, so there is no breakfast cutoff to miss. Holiday hours follow the same rule — Denny’s publishes no separate holiday-hours notice, and most locations stay open on holidays, many of them around the clock, with the individual store’s page as the source of truth.

Is Denny’s open on Thanksgiving? Most locations stay open, many of them 24 hours, but hours vary by restaurant and Denny’s publishes no chain-wide holiday schedule — check your store. What Denny’s does not publish is a Thanksgiving menu: there is no holiday menu or Thanksgiving pricing on dennys.com, and no turkey dinner on the current core menu. Restaurants serve the regular menu.
Is every Denny’s open 24 hours? No. 24/7 is the chain’s reputation and the reality at many restaurants — Fort Worth and Orlando among the stores checked — but locations like Jackson Heights, NY keep limited hours. Your store’s hours are the ones in the official locator.

Gift Cards

Denny’s gift card terms are simple, and they are all on the official gift cards page at dennys.com:

  • Where to buy: at any Denny’s location in the U.S., online at dennys.com, and at third-party retailers including Target, CVS, Giant Eagle, Office Depot and Amazon.
  • Amounts: any amount from $10 to $100 in restaurants and online; third-party retailers sell $25 cards and variable cards from $25 to $100.
  • Expiry and fees: the cards do not expire and carry no dormancy fees. Ten years after a card’s last use it becomes inactive — call the Denny’s Call Center at 1-800-733-6697 (staffed 24/7) with the card number and Denny’s will determine its value and send a replacement card.
  • Use: cards are redeemed in-store; U.S.-issued cards redeem only in the U.S. Cards are not reloadable, cannot be refunded or redeemed for cash except where the law requires it, and lost or stolen cards are not replaced — that is printed on the back of the card.
How do I check my Denny’s gift card balance?Through the gift card pages at dennys.com — Denny’s published gift card terms direct balance checks there. For a card that has gone inactive after ten years of no use, call the Call Center at 1-800-733-6697 with the card number.

Items Not on the Current Menu

Four things people keep searching for are not on the verified current menu:

  • The $2 $4 $6 $8 Value Menu — retired from the official menu and the meal-deals page; the value Slams and Triple Play Combos in the Deals section are its replacement.
  • The Fit Fare menu section — gone; only the Fit Slam® survives from it. The Fit Fare Veggie Skillet appears in an older (May 2025) nutrition guide but not in the current April 2026 guide or on the ordering menus.
  • All You Can Eat Pancakes — not listed on the current online menus at the stores checked.
  • A Thanksgiving menu or turkey dinner — Denny’s publishes neither; the regular menu runs through the holidays.
