Ordering Guide & Tips

KFC publishes no national price list — every restaurant is franchised and sets its own prices, and the prices on this page are stated the honest way: as ranges across three KFC restaurants checked in KFC’s own ordering flow on kfc.com on October 26, 2026 — Louisville, Kentucky, Houston, Texas and Los Angeles, California. Below is the complete KFC menu — fried chicken by the piece in four recipes, buckets and family meals, tenders and nuggets, sandwiches and the Twister wrap, Famous Bowls and pot pie, homestyle sides, sauces, desserts, drinks and kids meals — 193 items in the menu above: 101 carry an ordering-flow price range, and 146 carry their official calorie figure from KFC’s official nutrition guide, last updated October 19, 2026.

How the KFC Menu Works

KFC’s menu is built from platforms, not set plates: fried chicken by the piece in four recipes, buckets and family meals built from those pieces, tenders and nuggets, chicken sandwiches, bowls, and homestyle sides sold individually or family-size. A rotating limited-time layer sits on top. The menu above carries all of it — 16 categories, 193 items — built from KFC’s own official nutrition guide (the 146 items with published calories) plus the combo, bucket and meal builds sold in the ordering flow (priced, with no published calories).

Prices and parts of the menu itself are set restaurant by restaurant. KFC’s own guide disclaimer states that menu items and hours of availability vary by location, and the three restaurants checked for this page prove it — some items are listed at one store and not another, and the same bucket can differ by several dollars between cities. That is why every price here is a range across the stores that sell the item, never a single “national” figure; the Prices section below states the method in full.

Does KFC have a secret menu? No. KFC publishes no secret menu. The “secret menu” builds circulating online are recombinations of items and sauces on the regular menu — a Famous Bowl with different toppings, a sandwich with an extra sauce — ordered as customizations, not as hidden products.
What about KFC/Taco Bell co-branded stores? At a co-branded KFC/Taco Bell restaurant, the KFC side serves this same KFC menu — the same chicken platforms, buckets, bowls and sides — from a shared counter. The two menus sit side by side; they do not merge, and nothing from the Taco Bell menu is part of this page. That restaurant sets its own prices, exactly as a standalone KFC does.
What is the best thing to order at KFC?The Famous Bowl is the chain’s signature single serving — mashed potatoes, sweet corn, chicken, cheese and gravy at 590 calories — and the bucket is the signature format: the 8-piece meal with two large sides and four biscuits is the standard family order. By the piece, Original Recipe is the original; Extra Crispy is the crunch version of the same cuts.

Limited-Time Offers

The current limited-time layer is the largest category in the menu — 33 items with published calories in the October 19, 2026 edition of the nutrition guide, plus the wing-count and Mike’s Hot Honey combo builds sold alongside them in the ordering flow, every one tagged Seasonal in the menu above:

  • Dirty sodas — Dirty Dr Pepper®, Dirty Pepsi®, Dirty Lemonade and Dirty Tart Cherry Lemonade, in 20 oz and 30/32 oz cups (210–580 calories by build and size).
  • Tart Cherry Lemonade — by the cup (320 / 500 calories), the half gallon (1,090) and the gallon (2,170).
  • Hot & Spicy Wings — scored per wing at 90 calories, 110 in the Honey BBQ and Mike’s Hot Honey builds, plus the Wing Go Buckets (540 / 560) and the Wings & Tenders and Wings & Sandwich Big Boxes (1,620 / 1,760).
  • The Hot Ranch line — the Hot Ranch 6 Piece Combo (1,380) and Hot Ranch Loaded Wedges (870).
  • Two returns — Popcorn Chicken and Potato Wedges, covered in their own sections below; both are limited-time items in this edition, not standing menu items.
  • Go Buckets — Tender and Nugget Go Buckets with fries or wedges (510–560), and a Country Fried Steak Meal (870).

KFC publishes no launch or end dates for this layer. The edition date of the nutrition guide — October 19, 2026 — is the freshness evidence for every item in it, and when the guide’s next edition moves, this layer is the first part of the menu that changes.

Fried Chicken by the Piece

KFC sells four recipes of bone-in chicken, each in the same four cuts — breast, drumstick, thigh and whole wing — and publishes calories per piece for all sixteen:

  • Original Recipe® — the 11 herbs and spices original: breast 390, drumstick 130, thigh 280, whole wing 130 calories.
  • Extra Crispy™ — the double-breaded crunch line: breast 530, drumstick 170, thigh 330, whole wing 170.
  • Kentucky Grilled Chicken® — the grilled line: breast 210, drumstick 80, thigh 150, whole wing 70.
  • Spicy Crispy — the spicy breaded line: breast 350, drumstick 130, thigh 270, whole wing 120.
Is Kentucky Grilled Chicken discontinued? No. Kentucky Grilled Chicken is a standing category in KFC’s current official nutrition guide (October 19, 2026 edition), with all four cuts and their calories published. Availability varies by location, under the guide’s own disclaimer — the line itself is not discontinued, and no third-party claim overrides the guide.

The wing demand on this platform resolves in the limited-time layer: the current wing offer is the Hot & Spicy Wings line above. The regional shelf closes the platform: KFC® Livers (230 calories), KFC® Gizzards (300) and Country Fried Steak with or without peppered white gravy (390 / 360) are published in the guide’s Regional Menu Items — sold in some markets, not nationally.

Buckets, Family Meals & Boxes

The bucket platform runs on piece counts — 8, 12 and 16 pieces — in two builds: chicken only (8 pc $17.99–$22.49, 12 pc $24.99–$30.99, 16 pc $31.99–$38.99) and the family meal, the same bucket with two large sides and four biscuits (8 pc $26.19–$31.99, 12 pc $34.79–$41.99, 16 pc $45.69–$53.99). The pieces are the by-the-piece chicken above, in the recipe the bucket is ordered in; the tenders platform scales to the same meal format at the same price points. The named box platforms — the Big Box builds and the Go Buckets ($3.49–$4.49) — sit in the menu with the platforms they are built from, and the current Go Bucket and Big Box builds are in the limited-time layer. The Build-A-Bucket — 8 pc chicken or 8 pc tenders, built your way — is $20.00 at all three restaurants checked.

KFC publishes no bucket calories. The nutrition guide scores chicken per piece and sides per serving, never per bucket or per meal, so the bucket and meal rows in the menu carry their prices with no calorie figure — adding the pieces up into a bucket total would be inventing a figure KFC does not publish. The piece calories and the side calories are all in the menu; a bucket’s content is read from them, not summed into a new number.

Does KFC still have the $5 Fill Up and the $20 Fill Up?The $5 Fill Up is gone, and no Fill Up appears in the current nutrition guide at all. A $20 Fill Up Box was still listed at one of the three restaurants checked in October 2026 (Louisville; not at Houston or Los Angeles) — it stands in the menu as a priced row with no published calories. The standing national value platforms are the Taste of KFC deals and the limited-time Go Buckets and Big Boxes, covered in the Deals section and the limited-time layer above.

Tenders, Nuggets & Popcorn Chicken

KFC publishes this platform per piece: an Original Recipe® Tender is 170 calories ($2.59–$2.69 each in the ordering flow), a Kentucky Fried Nugget is 35 calories. Every count — a 3-piece tenders order, a bucket of nuggets — is a multiple of those two figures, and the platform scales from single servings to the same 8/12/16-piece meal formats as the buckets. Nuggets Only runs from $3.49–$3.99 for 5 pc up to $34.99 for 50 pc; the Tenders Combo runs $8.99–$9.99 (3 pc) to $12.19–$13.99 (5 pc).

Popcorn Chicken is a limited-time return, not a standing item. The current guide lists Popcorn Chicken (620 calories) and its Combo (940), Bucket (1,670) and Big Box (1,470) builds under Limited Time Offers, tagged Seasonal. It sits in the menu in that category, and it leaves the menu with the rest of the limited-time layer when the run ends.

Chicken Sandwiches & the Twister Wrap

The sandwich platform is two builds and a small one. The Classic Chicken Sandwich is 650 calories at $4.89–$6.49; the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is 620 calories at $5.69–$6.49 (the standalone spicy sandwich is listed at Houston and Los Angeles; Louisville sells it in the combo). The small one is the KFC Snacker, $2.99 at all three restaurants checked. Outside the U.S., the spicy chicken sandwich platform is sold under the name Zinger — the same platform, not a separate U.S. item, and no separate Zinger row exists on the U.S. menu.

Does KFC still sell the Chicken Little? No Chicken Little appears in KFC’s current official nutrition guide. The small sandwich KFC publishes now is the KFC Snacker — 350 calories. The Snacker is the current item; KFC publishes no discontinuation date for the Chicken Little, and none is printed here.
Does KFC have wraps?Yes — the Twister® wrap, 680 calories, is the chain’s wrap entity, and it is current: it stands in the Sandwiches & Wraps category of the October 19, 2026 guide. It is not a discontinued item and it is not a secret-menu build. Availability is spotty in practice — no wrap was listed at any of the three restaurants checked in October 2026, so the Twister carries its published calories in the menu and no ordering price.

Famous Bowls & Chicken Pot Pie

The KFC® Famous Bowl — creamy mashed potatoes, sweet corn and chicken layered with cheese and gravy — is 590 calories at $5.19–$6.99, and it anchors the guide’s Pot Pie & Bowls category alongside the Chicken Pot Pie at 720 calories ($6.39–$7.19), the heaviest standing single item on the menu. The Mac & Cheese Bowl is sold in the ordering flow at $6.19–$7.99 and stands in the menu as a priced row; KFC’s nutrition guide publishes no calorie figure for it, so none is printed. The bowl is one entity with builds, not a family of separate products.

The Smash’d Potato Bowl line belongs to this platform’s recent history: KFC’s own Rewards launch release in February 2024 built its signup offer around Smash’d Potato Bowls. That offer was a launch promotion; it is recorded here as history, not as a current deal.

Homestyle Sides

The sides platform mirrors the guide’s two side categories: 13 individual sides and 9 family-size sides, each with its own published figure. The individual shelf: Mashed Potatoes (110) and Mashed Potatoes With Gravy (130), Macaroni & Cheese (140), Coleslaw (170), Secret Recipe Fries (320), a Biscuit (180), Sweet Kernel Corn (70), Corn on the Cob (70), Green Beans (25), BBQ Baked Beans (190), Cheese Curds (350), the Cheese Curd Snack Box (340) and the KFC® Cornbread Muffin (210). The family-size rows carry their own guide figures — family Mashed Potatoes With Gravy is 590 calories, family Secret Recipe Fries 840 — and are published servings in their own right, not sums of the individual rows.

Potato Wedges are a limited-time return. The current guide lists Potato Wedges (320 calories; Large 760) and the Hot Ranch Loaded Wedges build under Limited Time Offers — wedges are not a standing side in this edition, and they are not discontinued either; their home in the menu is the Seasonal category. The guide also publishes two salads, scored without dressing or croutons: the House Side Salad (15 calories) and the Caesar Side Salad (40), with dressings published separately from 15 calories (Marzetti Light Italian) to 260 (KFC® Creamy Parmesan Caesar) and Parmesan Garlic Croutons at 60.

Sauces & Condiments

KFC publishes its dipping sauces as a category of their own — 17 rows in the menu above. KFC Sauce is 90 calories a cup; Comeback Sauce and Buffalo Ranch are 120; Ranch is 130; Honey Mustard is 110; Sticky Chicky Sweet n’ Sour and the BBQ cup are 45. The packet shelf — honey sauce, grape jelly, strawberry jam, lemon juice, ketchup — runs 5 to 35 calories, and the Supergirl line (Honey Mustard 120, Ranch 110, Sweet Chili 40) and Spicy Zinger Mayo (590) complete the category. The “Ranch” in the limited-time layer is a different entity — the Hot Ranch wing platform — while the dipping-sauce ranch lives here; one fact, one home.

Desserts

The published dessert shelf is six items: Café Valley cakes — the Chocolate Chip Cake slice (300 calories) and Lemon Cake slice (220), and the Mini Chocolate Chip and Mini Lemon cakes (300 each) — an Apple Turnover (230) and the Chocolate Chunk Cookie (190).

Does KFC sell ice cream or sundaes? No. The current guide publishes no ice cream item and no sundae. Dessert at KFC is the cake, cookie and turnover shelf above — nothing frozen stands on the published menu.

Drinks

The fountain lineup is PepsiCo-led: Pepsi® (150–380 calories across the 12, 16, 20 and 30 fl oz sizes), Pepsi Zero Sugar®, Wild Cherry Pepsi®, Dr Pepper®, Mountain Dew® and its Code Red and Sweet Lightning builds, Starry®, 7UP®, Mug Root Beer®, Manzanita Sol® and Miranda® Strawberry, the Lipton® Brisk® teas, the Tropicana® lemonades and fruit punch, and Classic Lemonade (140–880 across the cup and half-gallon formats). The guide publishes 105 beverage rows — every drink in every size, plus the half-gallon and gallon formats — and the menu consolidates them into 27 drink rows with the sizes in each description and the calorie span across sizes on the row. A standard fountain cup is $2.89–$3.19 across the three restaurants checked; half gallons of lemonade and Southern Iced Tea are $4.19–$4.99.

Southern Iced Tea runs 210–530 calories by cup size, 1,130 for the half gallon and 2,250 for the gallon. The dirty sodas and Tart Cherry Lemonade sit in the limited-time layer above, tagged Seasonal.

Does KFC still sell Krushers? No. Krushers are a discontinued drink platform — no Krusher appears anywhere in the current guide. The frozen-drink demand resolves to the current fountain and limited-time lemonade lines above.

Kids Meals

The kids platform is published as six calorie rows: the Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets Kids Meal (170 calories) and the Original Recipe® Tenders Kids Meal (350), with the kids drinks and side — Capri Sun® 100% Juice Fruit Punch (80), 1% Milk (90), 1% Chocolate Milk (150) and Musselman’s™ Applesauce (45). In the ordering flow the two meals sell as the 5 pc Nuggets Kids Meal and the 2 pc Tenders Kids Meal at $5.49–$6.19.

Do KFC kids meals come with a toy?No toy is part of KFC’s published kids meal offer. The published meal is the entree with the kids drink and applesauce choices listed above — the current guide and menu add no toy to it.

Prices

KFC publishes no national price list — so every price on this page is a range, captured from KFC’s own ordering flow. On October 26, 2026, the ordering flow on kfc.com was checked at three restaurants in three states — Louisville, Kentucky · Houston, Texas · Los Angeles, California — and each price in the menu above is the lowest-to-highest figure across the restaurants that sell that item. The full span of the menu runs from $0.25 (a dipping-sauce cup in Houston) to $53.99 (a 16-piece family meal in Los Angeles).

  • Franchise pricing is real, and the ranges show it. Los Angeles is the most expensive of the three on most platforms — an 8-piece Chicken Only bucket is $17.99 in Houston, $18.99 in Louisville and $22.49 in Los Angeles. A range is the only honest way to print a KFC price.
  • Some items are local. Where an item was listed at only one or two of the three restaurants, its menu row says so — a handful of Louisville-only lines (the Saucy line, the Original Honey BBQ line, Jr. Fries) carry that store’s single figure, flagged as Louisville-only, never dressed up as a chain price.
  • Some national anchors are identical everywhere: the $7 / $9 / $11 Box Feasts, the $20.00 Build-A-Bucket (8 pc chicken or tenders) and the $2.99 Snacker were the same at all three restaurants.
  • No other price source is used. No aggregator figure and no DoorDash, Uber Eats or Grubhub figure appears anywhere on this page — delivery-platform prices are a separate price context and are never evidence for the menu.

Your own restaurant’s figure is the one in its ordering flow on kfc.com, and it can sit outside a range printed here — ranges describe the three restaurants checked in October 2026, not a promise about a fourth. Store-level price questions for a specific city belong to that store’s listing in the directory, bridged at the close of this page.

Nutrition & Calories

Every calorie figure on this page comes from KFC’s official nutrition guide — the interactive KFC Nutrition Guide hosted on Nutritionix, the nutrition tool KFC publishes for its U.S. menu — last updated October 19, 2026. The guide publishes 224 rows, including a row for every drink size; those rows consolidate into 146 items in the menu above, and all 146 carry their official calorie figure. The other 47 rows in the menu are ordering-flow builds — combos, buckets and family meals as sold — which carry prices and no calories, because KFC publishes no per-build calorie figure for them. The guide publishes full nutrition panels — fat, sodium, carbs, sugars, protein — per item; this page’s data carries calories, and macro questions resolve in the same official guide, which is the source named here rather than reprinted panel by panel. Per-unit scoring is the thing to remember: tenders are published per tender (170), nuggets per nugget (35) and Hot & Spicy Wings per wing (90–110 by build), so a count multiplies.

Original Recipe® Tender (each) 170
Macaroni & Cheese 140

The lightest full items on the menu are the grilled pieces — a Kentucky Grilled whole wing is 70 calories, the drumstick 80 — and Green Beans at 25 calories are the lightest side. The heaviest published builds are limited-time boxes: the Wings & Sandwich Big Box at 1,760 calories and the Popcorn Chicken Bucket at 1,670. Buckets, family meals and combos as wholes carry no published figure at all — KFC scores their components, and the Nutrition answer for a bucket is the piece and side figures in the menu, stated in the Buckets section above.

Allergens, Ingredients & Dietary

KFC tracks eleven allergens through the Special Diets tool in its official nutrition portal: Eggs, Fish, Gluten, Milk, MSG, Peanuts, Sesame, Shellfish, Soy, Tree Nuts and Wheat. Per-item allergen answers live inside that tool — the portal filters the menu against the allergens selected there — and no static per-item allergen table exists to republish, so this page prints KFC’s official position rather than an invented chart. Ingredient lists per item are published in the same portal, alongside the nutrition panels.

That position is a warning, and it is carried here unsoftened: products may be prepared on the same equipment and in the same kitchen area as allergen-containing items, cross contact cannot be guaranteed, and neither KFC nor its franchisees assume responsibility for sensitivities. KFC’s frying oil is canola oil and hydrogenated soybean oil, or low-linolenic soybean oil — and in some restaurants fish, chicken and potatoes are prepared in the same oil.

Does KFC have a gluten-free menu? No. KFC publishes no gluten-free menu and no certified gluten-free item. The grilled chicken and the vegetable sides are the items people ask about, and KFC makes no gluten-free claim for any of them — the cross-contact warning above applies to everything on the menu.
Is KFC halal or kosher?KFC U.S. publishes no halal certification and no kosher certification for its restaurants or its menu. There is no official certification list to check a store against.
What is in the 11 herbs and spices? The blend is KFC’s trade secret and is not published. Ingredient-attribute questions — what is in an item, which allergens it carries — resolve in the official portal above; the recipe itself has no official answer, and copycat formulas are third-party inventions, not KFC documents.

Hours

KFC publishes no national hours. Its own guide disclaimer states that menu items and hours of availability vary by location, and no chain-wide timetable exists to print. Each restaurant’s hours — opening, closing, drive-thru and holiday hours alike — live in the store locator and in the ordering flow on kfc.com once that restaurant is selected; that listing also shows the store’s live open-or-closed status. Holiday hours are set the same way, store by store: KFC publishes no chain-wide holiday schedule for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter or any other holiday, and no 24-hour pattern is published at chain level. The hours of the KFC across town are not evidence for yours — check your own restaurant’s listing.

Gift Cards

KFC gift cards are redeemable for food and drinks at participating KFC locations in the 50 U.S. states. The published card terms are simple: the card does not expire, and no fees apply. The card is treated like cash — it is not redeemable for cash except as required by law. The cards are issued in partnership with Sutton Bank and distributed and serviced by Wolfe Merchant Solutions.

  • Check a balance: at kfccard.wolfe.com or by phone at 1-877-759-1042.
  • Buy: eGift cards are sold through KFC’s authorized channel in the $5–$100 range; physical cards are sold in restaurants.

Deals, Coupons & KFC Rewards

KFC Rewards is the chain’s loyalty program, run through a Rewards account on kfc.com or the KFC app at participating U.S. restaurants. Per KFC U.S.’s own launch release (February 6, 2024): members earn 10 points per eligible $1 on orders placed through a Rewards account, and redeem points for rotating free-food rewards in the Secret Recipe Vault — the launch examples were free 8-pc Kentucky Fried Nuggets, a free chicken sandwich and a free side. Personalized offers and rotating challenges — order a specific item, earn more — sit on top of the base earn rate. An account is required, and the program applies to online account orders; that is the channel the points live in.

The standing value platform alongside Rewards is the Taste of KFC deals line, published in the ordering flow at participating restaurants. It was listed at two of the three restaurants checked (Houston and Los Angeles; not Louisville), priced by count: 2 pc $5.00–$6.99 · 4 pc $10.00–$13.99 · 6 pc $20.00–$23.00, with a 14 pc deal at $25.00 in Los Angeles — those ranges stand in the menu above under the same multi-store model as the Prices section. Rotating coupon codes from third-party sites are not printed: KFC’s offers live in the app and on kfc.com, they are account- and store-specific, and a copied code is not how they are redeemed. Voucher and EBT questions resolve at the same level — acceptance is a store-level matter, published nowhere at chain level.

Does KFC have a senior or military discount?KFC publishes no national senior, military or veteran discount. Any discount at a counter is that restaurant’s own decision, not a chain program.

No Breakfast at KFC

KFC U.S. does not serve breakfast. No breakfast menu and no breakfast daypart appears anywhere in the chain’s official U.S. materials — not in the nutrition guide, not in the published menu. U.S. restaurants open serving the regular menu on this page. Breakfast menus exist at KFC in some other countries; they are not part of the U.S. menu this page covers.

Locations, phone numbers, directions and each store’s own menu, prices and hours live in the store directory — this page covers the national menu, not individual restaurants. Ordering for a group beyond the family meals? KFC’s catering offer is a separate group-ordering program with its own menu and ordering route. Delivery and online ordering run through the ordering flow and the delivery platforms — both are separate contexts from this menu page, and delivery-platform prices are never used as menu evidence here.

Need this menu on paper? Print this page from your browser — it prints as a complete KFC menu with calories.
