Ordering Guide & Tips
Saltgrass Steakhouse is a Texas steakhouse chain owned by Landry’s, and its menu is built on eight steaks priced $23.99–$48.99 — every steak served with your choice of a side and soup or salad included. Food on the menu runs from a $3.99 steak add-on to the 21 oz Bone-In Ribeye at $45.99–$48.99; the only higher figure on the whole menu is a $135 bottle of Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon. Every price on this page comes from the chain’s own published location menus — checked at Austin, TX, Colorado Springs, CO and Baton Rouge, LA in October 2026 — or from its official online ordering flow, which supplies the Family Pack and dessert prices (Houston, Dallas North and San Antonio Riverwalk): Texas and Louisiana prices are identical on nearly everything, and Colorado runs about $1–$2 higher on many entrées. Lunch runs Monday–Friday, the Shiner Bock beer bread is free, and there is no breakfast — the doors open at 11 AM.

How the Saltgrass Menu Works
The full menu is in the structured menu on this page: 32 categories and 251 items, from Range Rattlers™ and the steak list through lunch, family packs, the No Bull Lounge happy hour menu, cocktails, wines by the glass and bottle, and the homemade desserts. The structure to know before you order:
- Every steak, favorite, rib and seafood entrée includes a side and soup or salad in its price — the figure on the menu is the plate, not the protein alone.
- Sides are included, upgrades are not. Baked potato, fries, mashed potatoes, broccoli, flash fried green beans and Brussels sprouts come with the entrée; the four premium sides are upcharges of $1.99–$3.39.
- The bread is free. Complimentary Shiner Bock Beer Bread, baked from scratch daily, comes to the table — it is a signature of the chain, not an appetizer you order.
- Part of the menu is not priced online. Cocktails, the spirits shelves and the standing beer list are listed on saltgrass.com without prices — and the chain’s online ordering flow carries no alcohol at all. The Prices section below states exactly which parts those are. Nothing on this page fills those gaps with third-party figures.
Steaks
Eight steaks anchor the menu. Each is served with your choice of a side and soup or salad, and each is priced by the cut — the web menu publishes size and price for the steaks but no calories, so the steak rows carry no calorie figure anywhere on this page.
- Wagon Boss Center-Cut Top Sirloin — 8 oz, $23.99–$25.99. The entry steak.
- Maudeen’s Center-Cut Filet — 6 oz, $30.99–$32.99.
- Pat’s Ribeye — 12 oz, $32.99–$34.99.
- New York Strip — 12 oz, $33.99–$35.99.
- Cattleman’s Prime Rib — 12 oz, $35.99–$36.99. Herb crusted, with au jus and horseradish sauce, served Friday–Sunday only, in limited quantities.
- Texas T-Bone — 18 oz, $38.99–$40.99.
- Silver Star Porterhouse — 22 oz, $43.99–$44.99.
- Bone-In Ribeye — 21 oz, $45.99–$48.99. The most expensive food item on the menu.
Four additions are priced separately: Smother Your Steak (sautéed mushrooms, grilled onions, garlic butter) at $3.99, grilled or fried shrimp at $9.99, the Urban Cowboy Topping (grilled shrimp, lemon butter, green onions) at $10.99, and the Oscar Topping (lump crab meat, lemon butter, fried asparagus) at $12.99–$13.99.
The Paired For You combos pair a steak with seafood on one plate: the Signature Steak & Shrimp (8 oz top sirloin with grilled or fried shrimp, $30.99–$32.99), the Bacon Wrapped Filet & Shrimp ($36.99–$38.99), the Urban Cowboy (12 oz New York Strip with grilled shrimp, $40.99–$42.99) and the Filet Oscar ($40.99–$42.99).
Favorites, Ribs, Chicken & Seafood
The Favorites are the non-steak half of the grill, all served with a side and soup or salad: Country Fried Steak (Certified Angus Beef®, cream gravy, $19.99–$20.99), Chicken Fried Chicken ($19.99–$20.99), Chopped Steak ($19.49), hand-breaded Chicken Tenders ($17.99–$18.99), Grilled Chicken Breast ($20.99–$21.99), Chicken Laredo (jack cheese, avocado, poblano peppers, feta, $23.49–$24.49), Tenders & Fried Shrimp ($18.49–$19.49) and the Prime Pork Chops — two 7 oz chops, bourbon glazed or simply grilled, $27.99–$28.99.
The ribs are slow-cooked baby back pork ribs: a full order at $29.99–$30.99, a Steak & Ribs combo at $30.99–$32.99, and rib combos pairing the ribs with grilled chicken or shrimp at $29.99–$30.99. The seafood list is short: Atlantic Salmon, simply grilled, $25.99–$26.99; Salmon Oscar with lump crab, $34.99–$35.99; Blackened Redfish with shrimp and lump crab, $33.99–$34.99; and grilled or fried shrimp at $23.99–$24.99.
Family Meals & Family Packs
Family meals are a standing to-go platform, not catering. The structured menu on this page lists 18 Family Packs — ribs paired with steak, chicken or shrimp; chicken tenders; grilled chicken; top sirloin paired with chicken or shrimp; grilled salmon; chopped steak; cheeseburgers; chicken sandwiches; tenderloin tips; and bulk salads, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese from the ordering flow. The entrée packs are served with two sides and a salad (the burger and chicken sandwich packs come with fries), in Small (feeds 3) and Large (feeds 5) sizes on the web menu. The web menu itself prints no Family Pack prices — sizes only — but the chain’s own online ordering flow prices the packs at $22.00–$150.00, checked at Houston, Dallas North and San Antonio Riverwalk in October 2026, and wherever a pack is listed its price is the same at each store (the Grilled Salmon Pack is not listed at San Antonio Riverwalk). Those ordering-flow prices are the ones on this page.
Appetizers, Salads, Soups, Sides & the Free Bread
The starter the chain is named for in search is the Range Rattlers™ ($15.99, 930 calories): jumbo jalapeños stuffed with shrimp and jack cheese, with cilantro and ranch dressing. The rest of the board: Queso Fresco With Brisket (queso blanco, slow braised brisket, tostada chips, $15.99), Cheese Fries ($12.99, 1,830 calories — the highest-calorie appetizer), Seafood Fondeaux (shrimp, crawfish and spinach in a white wine cream sauce, $15.99), Bourbon Glazed Bacon ($15.99), Spinach Artichoke Dip ($14.99), Tenderloin Bites with creamy chimichurri ($13.49), Fried Mozzarella ($12.49) and Fried Mushrooms ($11.99–$12.99).
Salads run from the house and Caesar salads served with entrées to two entrée salads: the Hill Country Salad (grilled or fried chicken, bacon, eggs, cheddar, $18.99) and the Steak Salad ($21.99) — at Colorado Springs the steak salad slot is filled by The Steak Wedge ($21.79) instead. The soup line is a Homemade Soup of The Day by the cup ($7.99–$8.99), or a Soup & Salad pairing at $14.99. The sandwich shelf holds the Cheeseburger ($16.99), the Brisket Burger with slow braised brisket and BBQ sauce ($18.99) and a blackened Chicken Sandwich ($16.99), each served with fries.
Desserts & Drinks
Three desserts stand on the menu year-round: the Cheesecake (“Two Fork” white chocolate with strawberry sauce, 1,530 calories), the Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing (1,900 calories) and the Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup (1,900 calories). A fourth is seasonal: Pumpkin Cheesecake, back for a limited time October 8 – November 30, 2026, sold by the slice in the restaurant and as whole cakes. The web menu publishes calories for its desserts but not prices; the dessert prices on this page come from the chain’s online ordering flow — the Cheesecake is $9.99 and the Pumpkin Cheesecake $10.49 at Houston, Dallas North and San Antonio Riverwalk alike, and the Carrot Cake ($10.49) and Chocolate Cake ($11.49) are listed in the flow at Dallas North and San Antonio Riverwalk.
The bar menu is the deepest part of the list. Twenty-one standing cocktails — from a Skinny Margarita (85 calories) and Ranch Water (110) to the 22 oz Tito’s Texas Tea (240) — publish their calories on the web menu but not their prices, and the spirits shelves behind them (tequila and mezcal, vodka, gin, rum, scotch, bourbon and whiskey, cognacs and liqueurs, 61 pours in all) are listed by name only. No official online channel fills that gap: the chain’s online ordering flow lists no cocktail, beer or wine category at all (checked at Houston, Dallas North and San Antonio Riverwalk), so alcohol is priced only in the restaurant. The wine list is the priced exception: wines by the 6 oz glass run $7.50–$13.50, and bottles run from $60 (RouteStock Cabernet) to the menu’s single highest price, a $135 bottle of Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon — a bottle price, not a food price. Eighteen bottled and canned beers are listed with calories (30–190) but no standing prices; beer pricing is published on the happy hour menu below.
Two October drinks are seasonal and charitable: the Watermelon Wish Martini and the non-alcoholic Watermelon Lemonade, sold through October 2026 for Breast Cancer Awareness with $1 from each drink donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. The only other non-alcoholic listings on the web menu are the Berry Fresh mocktail (200 calories) and the PG Martini, a zero-proof drink built on Cut Above agave blanco (150 calories) — soft drinks, tea and coffee are served but are not itemised on the published menu.

Lunch, Early Dining & Holiday Menus
Lunch runs Monday–Friday, 11 AM–6 PM (from 11:30 AM in Colorado Springs). The lunch menu prices the same plates lower than dinner: lunch entrées at $14.99–$18.99 — Chicken Tenders at $14.99, Country Fried Steak, Tenderloin Tips and Chicken Fried Chicken at $15.99, Chopped Steak at $16.99, grilled or fried shrimp and the half rack of BBQ Pork Ribs at $17.99–$18.99 — plus two lunch steaks: the 6 oz Wagon Boss top sirloin at $19.99–$20.99 and the Signature Steak & Shrimp at $25.99–$26.99.
The chain also runs an Early Dinner menu — its own FAQ confirms the early dinner menu is the program in place of a senior discount: Saltgrass has no senior discount and no senior menu. Holiday demand is answered by the calendar, not by set menus: Saltgrass restaurants are open on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s, with hours varying by location, and a Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Plate is offered for dine-in with a Family Pack version available to pre-order. Restaurant-week menus (including Houston Restaurant Weeks) are location events — the participating restaurant publishes its own menu for the event, and no chain-wide restaurant-week menu exists.
Happy Hour — the No Bull Lounge
Saltgrass runs a real happy hour in its No Bull Lounge: Monday–Friday, 3–7 PM, at the Austin, Colorado Springs and Baton Rouge menus checked for this page — and per the chain’s FAQ, you must be seated in the bar to get it. The published tiers:
- $3 — 12 oz domestic draft and bottled beers.
- $4 — craft and imported drafts and bottles, House Margaritas, well mixed drinks.
- $6 — White Cosmo, Pomegranate Mojito.
- $7 — Saltgrass Coronarita, Tropical Sangria, Grand Sangria, Tito’s Texas Tea, Ranch Water.
- $8 — Bourbon Old Fashioned, Frozen Crown & Coke.
- Appetizers $5.50–$10.00 — ten starters at set happy hour prices: Fried Onions ($5.50), Pickles & Peppers ($6.50), Fried Mushrooms ($7.00), Cheese Fries ($7.50), Fried Mozzarella ($8.00), Tenderloin Bites ($9.00), Spinach & Artichoke Dip ($9.00), Queso Fresco With Brisket ($9.50), Range Rattlers™ and Seafood Fondeaux ($10.00).
Five wines by the glass (a merlot, a cabernet, a white zinfandel, a pinot grigio and a chardonnay) are listed on the happy hour menu between the $4 and $6 tiers with no tier price labelled — this page does not guess one. Happy hour is a lounge program, not a dining-room one, and a specific location’s participation follows its own published menu.
Prices
Prices on this page are the ranges across the chain’s own published location menus at Austin, TX, Colorado Springs, CO and Baton Rouge, LA (October 2026). Texas and Louisiana agree on nearly every item; Colorado Springs runs about $1–$2 higher on many entrées, which is why most entrées carry a range. The food span is $3.99 to $48.99: the floor is the Smother Your Steak add-on and the ceiling is the 21 oz Bone-In Ribeye. The header range on this menu ($1.99–$135.00) reaches both of its ends outside the food: $1.99 is the Smoked Macaroni & Cheese side-upgrade upcharge, and $135 is the bottle of Caymus Cabernet. Entrées start at $14.99 at lunch and $17.99 at dinner, and every entrée price includes a side and soup or salad. Two groups are priced from a second official source: the chain’s own online ordering flow, checked at Houston, Dallas North and San Antonio Riverwalk the same month. The desserts are priced there ($9.99–$11.49), and the Family Packs run $22.00–$150.00 — bulk to-go formats, priced the same at every checked store, and kept outside the served-menu span above.
What still carries no published price in any official channel, and stays blank on this page rather than borrowing figures: the 21 standing cocktails (calories only), the 61 spirits pours behind them (names only), the standing beer list (calories only) and the five happy-hour wines by the glass (listed with no tier price labelled). The ordering flow lists no alcohol category at all, so none of these can be priced from an official online source. Where Saltgrass does publish a price, it is on this page; where it does not, no aggregator or delivery-app figure has been substituted.
Nutrition & Calories
The calories on this page are the figures printed on Saltgrass’s own current web menus (October 2026) — there is no standalone nutrition PDF and no nutrition page on saltgrass.com, and the chain’s FAQ states that additional nutritional information is available on request. Coverage follows what the chain publishes: most food items carry a figure inline (96 of the 251 items on this page), while the web menu publishes no calories for the eight steaks (size and price only) and none for most wines and spirits.
Calories in the Most-Asked Items
| Item | Calories |
|---|---|
| Cheese Fries | 1,830 |
| Brisket Burger | 1,730 |
| Cheesecake | 1,530 |
| Carrot Cake | 1,900 |
| Chocolate Cake | 1,900 |
| Urban Cowboy (steak & shrimp plate) | 1,300 |
| Queso Fresco With Brisket | 1,160 |
| BBQ Pork Ribs | 1,110 |
| Range Rattlers™ | 930 |
| Country Fried Steak | 930 |
| Chicken Laredo | 930 |
| Atlantic Salmon | 480 |
| Smoked Macaroni & Cheese (side upgrade) | 440 |
| Baked Potato (entrée side) | 310–660 |
The desserts are the calorie ceiling of the menu: the Carrot Cake and Chocolate Cake, at 1,900 calories each, are built to share, and the Cheesecake is sold under the name “Two Fork.” At the other end, the published light figures are the Flash Fried Green Beans (90 calories as an entrée side), Broccoli (120) and the Atlantic Salmon plate (480).
Allergens & Dietary
Saltgrass’s own published position, from its FAQ, is that “gluten-sensitive options are available — ask your server or check the online menu for marked items.” Two facts bound that answer. First, the chain publishes no standalone allergen chart and no separate gluten-free menu on saltgrass.com. Second, in the location menus checked for this page, no gluten markers appear in the online menu text — so the working route the chain itself gives is the server, not a marked online list. No item on this page is labelled gluten-free, because the chain does not label one.
Hours
From the official location pages checked for this page, the pattern is: open 11:00 AM (11:30 AM in Colorado Springs), close 9:00 PM Sunday–Thursday and 10:00 PM Friday–Saturday. The chain’s FAQ states that most locations open at 11 AM. Two clocks sit inside the day: the lunch menu runs Monday–Friday until 6:00 PM, and happy hour runs Monday–Friday, 3–7 PM in the bar. Saltgrass is open on the big holidays — Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s — with hours that vary by location, so a specific store’s holiday hours are the figure to check before you go. Your own store’s hours live on its location page and in the directory listing; that is the source for a specific address.
Gift Cards
The Saltgrass gift card is the Landry’s Gift Card — one portfolio card for the whole Landry’s group. The chain’s published terms:
- Digital cards are sold at $25–$200 on saltgrass.com, and the card is usable at 600+ Landry’s locations — Morton’s, McCormick & Schmick’s, Joe’s Crab Shack and Rainforest Café are among the brands named by the chain.
- The cards never expire and carry no service fees.
- Check a balance on the Landry’s Gift Card Balance Checker online, or by phone at 1-888-345-8380. Card support is 1-844-234-7833, and bulk orders run over $500.
- Landry’s Select Club members earn points on gift-card purchases, not on redemption.
Through the holidays there is a dated offer on the card itself: from October 1 – December 31, 2026, buying gift cards earns a $10 Reward Card for every $50 (maximum $500 per household or email). The Reward Card is valid January 1 – March 31, 2027, needs a minimum $25 food and non-alcoholic purchase, is limited to one per visit or table, and is not valid February 12–14 or during Restaurant Week; Select Club members earn 1.5× points on holiday gift-card purchases. Discounted Saltgrass cards also circulate through resale marketplaces such as Costco and Sam’s Club channels — those are resale offers, not the chain’s own, and the card you receive is still the Landry’s card above.
Deals, Coupons & Landry’s Select Club
Saltgrass runs its loyalty through Landry’s Select Club, the shared Landry’s program — the same membership that works across the Landry’s portfolio. Its published terms:
- $25 enrollment fee, with a $25 Welcome Reward after registration (not applicable where the fee is waived).
- Earn 1 point per $1 on eligible food, beverage, retail and gift-card purchases; 250 points = a $25 Reward. Points are valid 12 months.
- $25 Birthday Reward during your birthday month — it expires on the 15th of the following month and cannot be combined with the Welcome Reward on the same visit.
- Up to $300 in rewards per check; up to $300 (3,000 points) may be deferred; priority seating for parties of six or fewer; rewards cannot be used for alcohol in some states.
The standing discounts are narrow and specific. There is a military discount for dine-in with a valid ID — not valid on alcohol and not combinable with other discounts. There is no senior discount (the Early Dinner menu is the chain’s answer instead) and no published AARP discount. Saltgrass does not publish coupon codes or printable coupons on its own site — its offers run through the Select Club, the specials page and the gift-card promotion above, so a code circulating on a coupon site is not a chain offer. One practical note from the FAQ: Saltgrass does not accept Apple Pay.
Kids Menu
Saltgrass does not publish a kids menu. No children’s menu appears in any tab of the chain’s official web menu at the locations checked for this page — not in the standing menu, the lunch menu or the happy hour menu. Families order from the regular menu; the plates children most often get are on it (Chicken Tenders, $17.99–$18.99 at dinner and $14.99 at lunch, and the Cheeseburger, $16.99). Older third-party menu feeds still carry a “Kid’s Gluten-Sensitive Menu” under the Saltgrass name — that feed is stale, the chain’s current published menu has no such section, and this page does not present it as current.
Items Not on the Current Menu
Three names from the chain’s older printed and syndicated materials are gone or renamed on the current web menu:
- Brownie Skillet Crumble — formerly listed; not on the current menu.
- “Gulf Coast Steak & Shrimp” and “Surf & Turf” — the old names for what the current menu sells as the Signature Steak & Shrimp and the Paired For You combos.
- Double-Bone Pork Chop — replaced by the current Prime Pork Chops.
Quick Answers
Looking for a specific store? Locations live in the restaurant directory and on the chain’s own location pages — this page covers the menu, not individual stores. Planning a private event or group dinner? Saltgrass handles catering, private dining and party rooms through its own events channel, separate from this menu. Ordering ahead or joining a waitlist runs through saltgrass.com and its own ordering platforms.
